Summary
Cute little one shot set around the 1997 episode, involving Ferguson helping Denise out with school pick up of Charlotte (since she's mid-divorce with Ray, and her mum is in hospital.) Lots of Ferguson doing his best to give age-appropriate advice to a worried and scared Charlotte (who like most kids her age going through a divorce is worried that it's her fault/that she won't get to see both her parents as often as usual/etc.)
I know the show didn't imply them to necessarily be this close, but this fic is part of a small AU I'm working on (one other fic in progress thus far), where I imply that and more between Denise and Ferguson. Not just for the fun of the potential relationship, but because the show didn't give her many people to lean on/look to for help and comfort with everything going on in her life, and I like the idea that Ferguson could have been a good source of that for her.
