Summary
He stops walking and leans his shoulder against a locker a few yards away. Waiting. For you? He looks the same as he did at the funeral. He gives you an awkward wave-salute that starts from his brow. The yearbook is heavy in your hands. You’re unsure if you will ever crease its spine to answer the question: Did they edit him out? Faint follow-ups: Did they add a big “in memory of” page for the others? Do you think they deserve the ink?

Summary
Matt is caught with a locker full of guns before he’s able to shoot anyone. He’s expelled and his family moves to the other side of the city, where he starts at a new school. He’s been banned from watching movies, creating movies and basically doing anything that would bring him joy.
He’s also not meant to contact Owen, but if he happens to find a boy in the music room that just happens to remind him of Owen, that’s probably okay. That’s probably healthy. There’s no rules against that.

Summary
Mr. Bird finds himself particularly fascinated by a peculiar student. What'll happen if he bends him, where is his snapping point? Giving his attention to a student who seems to know nothing but the torment of his peers.

“They think they can do whatever they want and get away with it forever, there should be consequences.” Matt clenched and unclenched his fist a few times. He was going down a path he barely spoke out about besides to Owen.“And those are?”
“I'm gonna shoot them.”
Other teachers would've grabbed the phone and rang the police. Jay smiled at him, it made him feel sort of nauseous.
“Shouldn't you be going home?” Jay said suddenly.
He was still smiling, Matt rolled his eyes. “Yeah.”

After a recent windfall, Mia Johnson gets a new cinematographer for her first feature-length film, and proceeds to test him -- that is, take over his life and see how much he's willing to stand. Turns out: a whole lot!
I have no idea where this thing is going, but I'm pretty sure it'll end happily.

So it feels like they've naturalized your permanent presence in every single step they take as a basis of reality: you are always, always there. / That'd be ridiculous. You’re just watching this. It wouldn’t be a film if you were really there. / He was your director and you were his camera, so he was your head and you were his fear.
Jared, thrice drawn.

Summary
He slides down the hallways while everyone is running, screaming, no one is listening to him, no one is reading the shirt, but at a certain point he doesn’t really care. He’s not trying to scare them, but he also doesn’t care.
And then he finds him in a darkened classroom, jiggling a locked doorknob like a complete idiot. There, he can stop running — why is he running?
“What are you doing? It’s me.”

Summary
"Do you ever get, like, memories stuck in your head?" Matt asks finally.
Owen frowns a little. "Like embarrassing stuff?"
Matt huffs softly through his nose. "No. Not really."
"Oh." The TV crackles quietly in the background. Someone onscreen screams and the music comes to a stinger. Matt taught him what a stinger was in seventh grade, after watching Psycho for the first time.

Summary
Owen takes a breath, presses play on the video and picks up the first item in the row; some dark brown powder and a small brush. He rolls the brush around in the eye shadow and hesitantly holds it in front of Matt’s closed eyes, clenching and unclenching his jaw. “Don’t move or I’m gonna blind you,” he warns.
Matt hums peacefully, either because he’s unbothered by the prospect or he has too much faith in him - both ideas Owen finds troubling.

Summary
Mississauga is a big place and tragedies happen all the time, everywhere. Everyone knows about the major ones: Columbine, Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech. The ones that haunt the news for years. The ones that become examples. But there were hundreds every year. In schools, in malls, in grocery stores. Churches, mosques, kindergartens and colleges. And with each hundred shootings were hundreds of people's lives shaken apart.
That's what Ms. Gilligan reasoned to him, when he expressed the feeling of being alone in this. She misunderstood: people were shaken, yes, but Owen had known and done nothing. He was the one to do the shaking.

Summary
The world seems to revolve around him in that singular moment, with the way his eyes light up and the sun begins to frame his blond curls. Owen didn't even really know he was blond until now, or hadn't considered it to this degree. It makes his heart feel weird. He wants to take a picture and keep it forever.
OR: Matt and Owen take in the cinematography of life and hallucinate a dead wife montage.

Summary
Matt and Owen have a movie night while they're at Matt's family's cottage. Things devolve from there.
--
Within the first fifteen minutes, Matt turns to him and says, breathy with laughter, "Dutch sounds stupid, eh? Like English and German all mixed up and turned inside out."
"C'mon, man, I'm trying to keep up with the captions," Owen says. "Can you not…"
"Not talk? But that's half the fun. Oh, shit, she's taking her top off, look. You can always rely on Verhoeven for tit shots. The man loves tits. We should re-watch Starship Troopers sometime."
