The void stirred, unseen currents rippling outward.

The orb trembled—but did not retreat.
“Very well,” the figure said at last, lifting a hand that was more concept than flesh. “Then you shall be reborn not as you were… but as something closer to what you wished you could have been.”
Light surged. Symbols—ancient and blinding—etched themselves into the darkness, spiraling around the orb like chains made of scripture and flame. Feathers formed from pure radiance, only to burn away and reform again, sharper, brighter.
“One final question,” the figure spoke, voice now layered with something dangerous. “When the time comes… will you still call yourself human?” -

The circus caravans sit quietly for now, wheels half-sunk into the dirt from travel, paint peeling from too many roads and too many promises. Canvas tents are still being raised farther in, stakes hammered into the ground with dull, rhythmic thuds. It’s early—before everything. Before names turn into legends. Before stories rot into warnings.
“Thank the lord I haven’t met them yet,” he mutters, rubbing his gloved hands together more out of nerves than cold. “So if I do… just don’t screw it up. Don’t be a total abusive dick.” -

Of course, those two were constantly arguing with some sort of long-standing rivalry, one never spoke, never missed a throwing knife, and watched her sleep. And the other tried to lick her.
