“Is everything alright in here?” The Wraith stood just outside the doors to the room, seeming to have suddenly materialized from out of thin air, or rather the shadows he tended to walk in. His posture was relaxed, almost deceptively so, but Semira knew from experience with absolute certainty that he missed nothing. “Should I call the guards?” Todd asked mildly, golden eyes wandering from the body writhing on the floor over to where she stood, her back still against the wall.
Yates straightened up from his kneeling crouched position, clutching himself, his face pale and sweaty. “No, everything’s perfectly fine,” he hissed out, glaring first at her, then at their surprising audience. “Now, mind your own damn business, Wraith.”
Todd’s head tilted slightly, a movement that appeared both curious and condescending at the same time. “I wasn’t talking to you, Human,” he dismissed with a soft growl and bared his sharp teeth for just a second, just a fraction, yet still intimidating enough for someone not used to it to have Yates visibly recoil despite his pain.
