Crack pairing!
After a painful break up with Italy, and an accidental call with Australia that would never have happened if Germany had been paying more attention, he starts to wonder if perhaps he and Australia had slightly more in common than he initially thought of an otherwise perfect stranger on the other side of the world. Though they both find themselves somewhat isolated from the majority of the world for slightly different reasons, it starts to become clear that the loneliness they'd come to accept lessens with each new realisation about each other. They manage to somehow point out every flaw in each other purely by having the advantage of also seeing it in themselves. It forces both uncomfortable conclusions and reassuring understandings. Both countries learn to let their guard down a bit more over time and move on from past wounds. However, this newfound trust and loyalty lasts only up until their view of ethics and morality start to diverge and they struggle to agree on when the ends justify the means.
Will it last, or it become all too clear that maybe it's better after all to have oceans and continents between them?
