It was supposed to be a proper summer road trip this year. No combat, no god-slaying, no desperate last stand to save the world from certain ruin. But fate has ever had a habit of stringing Joker away from the peaceful and mundane, hasn't it?
Not that even he could have ever expected to be hailed as the 'Warrior of Light'.
Kind of ironic, really.Or: a Persona 5 x Final Fantasy XIV crossover fic in which Joker, instead of a much-belated post-Strikers break, gets his ass Isekai'd into The Source and somehow winds up in the role of Eorzea's champion. As one does.
(Both Royal and Strikers compliant, for the most part. Spoilers for all that and, if I can actually keep it up, the entirety of FFXIV. Protagonist's name is Ren Amamiya.)

Summary
It was the loss of their respective homes to tyranny that had brought them together. Sil'dih was not Ala Mhigo, nor was Ul'dah Garlemald. Those two tragedies were scarcely comparable, yet she believed to have found a kindred spirit in Ilberd Feare, and he in her, the Warrior of Light. She was no revolutionary with a noble cause, just a bitter woman who longed for revenge against the Sultanate, but they were the same in that they sought justice for the travesties committed against their people.
Ilberd 's touch, when Iaera had at long last permitted herself to recall it, was a brand, white hot, searing itself into her very being, threatening to consume her and Ilberd both. It was love and hate and betrayal, desperation as well as frustration with each other and their chosen courses. He still cared for her, loathe as he was to admit it, nor would he do so ever again.
Gaius', in comparison, was as water, a gentle flow that washed over hurts both old and new with a tenderness and reverence that she once believed the former Legatus to be incapable of.
As far as she was concerned, Ilberd had been right to hate her.

Aymeric most definitely isn't spiraling into something he can't explain over his new Scion appointed right hand, the physical embodiment of walking chaos in a hand basket. She cunning, creative, way to good at her job, and infuriatingly random; All things he shouldn't want but can't help but be drawn into the mayhem.
Note: this is a long slow burn so a "wait for the smut" type deal. It won't show up for a while. (just a fair warning) The storyline was stuck in my head, so I had to get it to paper. Might as well shar it for others to possibly enjoy.
