Finally, they’re listening. The chatter ceases just in time for Scott Hunter— Scott Motherfucking Hunter— to lean in and. Well. Right there on the big screen, Scott Hunter kisses a man on the ice.
Hayden squeezes Jackie’s thigh even harder, letting out a breathless little laugh. Holy shit, he thinks, which is a fair reaction. It’s immediately followed by a less rational, Oh thank fuck, Shane doesn’t have to be the first, then.

Cliff has been going absolutely crazy trying to protect Hollander and Rozanov’s secret relationship, so he seeks out a co-secret keeper in his best friend, Hayden Pike. Hollander is at Rozy’s place for what he hoped would be an extended visit, with tuna melts and everything. If they ended up dating, Cliff would need some help.

Summary
Team management e-mails him early in the afternoon, but it’s just after helping Jackie feed Ruby and Jade dinner, when Hayden has the chance to go to the bedroom and sit against the bed headboard, that he manages to see and read it. The language is polite but friendly, and the person writing it actually identifies herself as the lady from the team’s media relationship, Nathaly, which immediately makes the exchange feel more real. She calls Hayden by his first name too, which also helps. Hayden has read some official communication before, but they addressed the team as a whole, so he knows this is different. Nathaly is talking to him to know if there’s any way he might billet for next season.

Over a decade prior, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov's relationship kicked off in a nearly empty ice rink, surrounded by cameras and directors that wanted a piece of a rivalry that was sure to take the hockey world by storm for the foreseeable future, filming a commercial to promote their newfound stardom.
Now, out and safe, the topic comes up again, and a certain Ottawa social media manager (the GOAT Harris, of course) has the idea to revisit and recreate said commercial as a way to reminisce and bring the world back to the couple's roots.
TLDR: Shane and Ilya recreate the commercial that started the whole thing, albeit with a lot more love and a lot more nostalgia (+ The aftermath and onward).
