You don’t even finish your sentence. Odile grabs your collar.
“YOU-!” Odile snarls, holding you up by your cloak. Suddenly, her expression drops.
Not softens, no, she’s grinning at you like a cat looks down at a mouse.

You jump. Your own impatience blasted away as her glare fixes on you.

It was so easy at first, you can’t help but think, as the two of you step out of the room and into the one you’re planning to share. It was so easy to believe that the world could be as bright as it was at the top of the House, that day, that you could keep feeling as incredibly warm as you did when Isabeau looked at you afterwards. But then time had passed, and you’d remembered the things you’d done. And he has to know.
