Summary
From what Hilda had heard, sentries along the wall had been pretty relaxed in past years, because it wasn’t really a need to be leery with troll incidents growing rarer each year. But ever since the forest fire she caused after getting the watch, she had been worried that the guards may suddenly tighten their hold on the wall, especially with Ahlberg in charge.
Breaking rules wasn’t enjoyable in itself, but what else was she supposed to do? She needed to get a hold on this situation, and it would be nice if she didn’t have to do it alone.
Now that David and Frida know about the watch, Hilda wonders about what her next steps should be. Breaking rules and hiding things weren't her most favorite things, but with her new powers and a plot from Safety Patrol afoot, she might not have much of a choice

Known for being quiet amongst his friends and classmates, Edward moves in the shadows where he has his own adventures that are vastly different than Hilda's. More grounded to the everyday lives of Trolberg. However, what nobody knows about Edward is that he has a Marra as his adoptive sister named Emily Sheridan, the Marra who always covers her right eye and is known to be the oldest amongst her friends. In this different story, dive into the world of Hilda through the eyes of an ordinary boy encountering the extraordinary and how he deals with them on his own pace with his sister, four teenagers, and a book of old. Most notably his gift for finding something that not even Hilda can find!

The weekend after that was their next chance. The Birding Badge may not involve a camping trip on unfamiliar turf, but it still wasn’t a bad way to spend a Saturday. A few things ought to happen today; take photos of rare and diverse kinds of birds, and…gently let David know about her watch, and Frida’s witchcraft.
Of course, what complicated this further were his parents and Frida’s own being reluctant to let their children leave the city, even though the forest outside of the wall would have made for a better location.
