“I gotta get to the club, Les,” Louis said softly into messy blond hair, “I’ll be back in a couple hours.”
Lestat only moved to wind his leg around Louis’ calf, making the younger vampire smile slightly.
“I’ll be as quick as I can, promise.”
“You say that every night.”
“And every night I am as quick as I can be,” Louis defended, his fingers dragging up the soft skin of Lestat’s lower back.
Lestat huffed, his arm tightening around Louis’ waist. “You should take a night off. I did not make you into a vampire for you to work this hard.” He finally lifted his head, his nose gliding along the line of Louis’ jaw. “I will make it worth your while.” His voice took on that purr, that soft smooth tone that made Louis feel liquid.

“That’s it.” Sam practically flies from the bed, stomps over to where he’s thrown his robe on a chair. He grabs it and shrugs it on.
Rashid sighs and climbs out of bed too, pulling on his sweatpants and following Sam as he marches into the living room and sinks down onto the sofa. Rashid sits beside him.
Sam's gazing into the middle distance, head raised slightly, searching the airwaves. “Daniel Molloy, if you can hear me, how would you like to be an orphan?”

Fuck, he wants to be a lawyer—his brain already is in a lot of ways, and because of that, well—twenty minutes make a whole hell of a lot of a difference, actually.

There’s just something so pathetic about the way Armand looks right now—the way he’s writhing in the rubble, pained and lethargic, like he’s genuinely struggling to move. Part of Daniel wants to stay and see how this pans out. Of course, the guy has just proven himself to be a legendary liar, so the whole “wounded animal” shtick could be total bullshit. Daniel could be two seconds away from having his jugular ripped out. So, another part of Daniel, the smarter part—the part that’s causing his heart to race and the tremor in his right hand to intensify—is telling him to listen to Raglan James for once and run!
But still, Armand really doesn’t look like he’s in any shape to pounce on Daniel and rip out his jugular. And the thing is… Daniel had another dream, the night he unearthed the horrors of Divisadero Street. Fragmented flashbacks. Nothing cohesive. Much like the ones he’d had of Armand tormenting him—although this one was perhaps even more unsettling.
