Summary
On New Year's Eve of 2025, Avery has a maybe-fake experience that changes his life. With no way to figure out who Derek is— was— if he was even real, or if they actually saved the world, Avery tries to leave it behind. But he's haunted by what he saw, and what he failed to do, in that Minecraft world as the clock ticked into the New Year.
And then, just as he thinks maybe he can finally move on, Derek finds him. He's alive, and mostly intact, and Avery allows the relief and joy of seeing his friend in real life to overshadow the cracks creeping through Derek's even-keeled facade. Summary
When Avery respawns after being pushed off the platform, it dawns on him that Derek is going to die, and he can't stand the thought.
However, before he can do anything about it, the minecraft world around him starts eating itself, disappearing into the void.
The next thing he knows, he's landed on the ground in a heap of slime-skined limbs and shining armor, and he can't logout anymore.-
Or, Avery and D3rlord end up getting stuck inside a clean-slate minecraft world together, and they have to figure out what the fuck is going on.
(Slowish burn bc I didn't want to rush it but I promise it's there. There's not a huge amount of plot, but it is there also. Mainly, though, there's comfort. Lots of comfort. I hope you enjoy these cute little beans falling in love <3)

Summary
All it takes is one miscalculation from those who know everything.
Derek, stuck between a rock and a hard place, fails to prevent Avery's possession by the King In Yellow. Only, something isn't quite right. Something hasn't gone to plan.
Avery, angry at being lied to, being pushed away, finds himself unprepared and trapped in the form of his minecraft avatar, traversing a world that threatens to swallow him whole.
Derek must combat both his failing body and time, racing to get to the last known location of Avery's physical form and, with it, the King In Yellow. Who, for reasons unknown, cannot access his powers.
All it takes is one miscalculation from those who can see everything:
What if, after everything, Avery was never the perfect vessel he was proclaimed to be?
