Summary
That first night, after Chris had gone to bed, they stood in the hallway with the kitchen light bleeding soft around them. Three people. Two bedrooms. One couch.
Eddie opened his mouth to offer something. The bed, maybe. The couch. The whole house. Something.
But it felt strange, offering Buck the bed like it wasn’t already his.
Before he could figure out what to say, Buck reached into his pocket and pulled out a coin.
--
Or: Buck and Eddie navigate sleeping arrangements now that Eddie’s back from Texas. One bed, one couch, and a coin they keep flipping.

Summary
While pulling clothes from the dryer, Buck’s hand brushes past a collection of underwear and mismatched socks before landing on something thicker, heavier.
It’s a hoodie. Soft from too many washes, sleeves just slightly frayed, the inside still holding onto the faint heat of the dryer. Buck stares at it for a second longer than he probably should, thumb brushing over the worn fabric. His hand drifts to his back pocket, reaching for his phone. The reflex is automatic: shoot Eddie a text. Hey, found your hoodie. Want me to mail it? It would be easy.
But his hand stills. The impulse fades as quickly as it came, because there's no version of that message that doesn't say I miss you. Are you coming back?

Summary
“Tommy actually thought that you and I–” Buck lets out a small chuckle. “That I was in love with you, which is crazy.” Eddie’s eyes widen on the other side of the call, he stops laughing. Buck feels his breath hitch in his throat.
He’s said too much. Stupid.
Eddie breaks the silence, he hesitates before whispering, “Is that so crazy?”
Buck fears he has stopped breathing for a moment. “What?” he asks quietly.
“Is it?” he whispers again, his face moving closer to the phone until it fills Buck’s screen.
Buck shakes his head, this isn’t real. “Eddie. You’re straight—I wouldn’t–”
“But what if?” Eddie cuts him off.
OR: Buck is not stupid; he knows exactly who Tommy meant by competition. He knows he’s in love with Eddie, he just can’t admit that to Tommy or Maddie, but maybe he can tell Eddie himself.

Summary
“Asked me if I was the Chinese food delivery guy on my first day.” Chim contributed in a whisper, like he was afraid Buck might wake up and hear. Maybe he felt disloyal admitting it now. It was no secret to anyone paying attention how much Chim loved Buck, even if he often pretended to be exasperated with him.
Hen nodded solemnly. “One of the many people who wouldn’t even acknowledge me when I started.”
It was news to Eddie, and apparently Ravi too, but not Cap, who resolutely stared down at the table in front of him, shaking his head.
“Oh, so he fucking sucks.” Ravi contributed casually, never one to pull punches with his thoughts.
No one responded, but the agreement was in the air.
