Summary
“I killed him.” With shaking a hand, Tim pointed at the man breathing unsteadily on the ground. The pool of blood beneath his head was growing larger. “I hit him too hard, I didn’t mean to, it was an accident!” He was rambling, he knew, but this was bad.
“What?” Jason sounded genuinely perplexed, but also angry. Though, Tim supposed in his half-dazed mind, Jason always sounded vaguely angry. “What the fuck are you talking about, Replacement?”
“Bruce,” Tim gasped out. “He’s— he’s gonna hate me. I’m sorry, I’m sorry—”
“Hey!” Jason’s sharp bark snapped Tim back to himself. He was shaking, but Jason’s hand was steady on his shoulder. “Baby bird. Look at me.”
“I killed him!” Tim jerked away from Jason, but the older man held him firmly. “I don’t wanna get kicked out, I can’t go through that again—”
Jason didn’t let him finish. With a swing of his arm and a deafening gunshot, Jason buried a bullet in the man’s head.
“There,” he said, shrugging. “You didn’t kill him. I did.”
Tim was hyperventilating.

Summary
He spends another twenty minutes staring at his phone before he musters up the courage to call Darla. It rings for several minutes. For a moment Bernard thinks he’s gonna get kicked to voicemail, which is exactly the kind of anticlimactic bullshit the universe would drop on him for being anxious about this.
The phone picks up, a quiet out-of-breath noise in his ear.
“Hey, dumbass,” Darla’s voice says. “You okay? Tim thinks you’ve been kidnapped.”
It’s her voice. It’s young and smooth and tripping over the corners of words in the ways a gangly teenager does, and how did she ever sound this young?
“Bernard?” Darla says, worried.
Bernard hangs up.
Post-Cult-of-Dionysus Bernard gets stuck in a time loop of the day Darla Aquista dies, which sucks just, royal balls.

Summary
Jason is both annoyed and weirdly flattered when the replacement turns up to ask him for help. He mentally rearranges his calendar so he can be free Wednesday evening and says, “No, fuck off, I have very important business going on.”
Tim eyes his 72” TV playing Japanese wrestling more judgmentally than it really deserves.
“Important crime things,” Jason emphasizes. “Make Wingdick do it.”Jason doesn't think much of it when Tim needs his help, or Damian moves in, or even when Dick turns up looking beat all to hell. But at some point he realizes that he might be the best option his brothers have to recover from the cycle of violence that Batman has set up, and all he can think is that things were much easier when he was the villain.

Summary
Neighbor Tim Drake comes to stay at Wayne Manor 2 days a week because his nanny (what nanny) gets weekends off.
At first glance, Dick and Jason hate Tim, he's such a snobby rich kid... But maybe there's more to him than they actually thought.---
Tim joins the Batfamily early, is a bad-ass detective in way over his head, and Dick and Jason realize they might actually see him as a little brother. -

Summary
The conversation Tim remembered the most from his first few months as Robin strangely wasn’t the brief before his first patrol, or even the conversation where he’d convinced Batman to take him on. It was the one they’d had after the first time he’d been almost-kidnapped...
“What’s most important of all is that you don’t stop fighting. I will get to you but if that ever happens, Tim, if you’re ever taken, you will need to be the bravest you’ve ever been. You’ll need to remember that I’m on my way to get you, and you’ll need to try to rescue yourself anyway.”
Tim had really tried. He had. But he was so. Fucking. Tired.
Or: When a caged bird can't even sing, what's left for them?
Tim's been taken, and after everything it starts to feel like maybe the hardest part will be going back home.
