Jack, terribly confused now, tilts his head as he glances at him and Castiel, who has since frozen in wide-eyed shock beside him. "You..." He stops and squints at Sam's similarly astounded but amused face in front of him. "You are my father's spouse...are you not?"
This earns him varying reactions, but all are along the lines of disbelief. "And that would grant you the title of my uncle. Regardless of marital status?"

Summary
"Good morning, Sam." Sam turns to the sound of the chipper greeting. Gabriel is sitting up, perusing from what looks to be a mini charcuterie board of sweets. At 7am.
Somehow not very surprising.
But Sam must make a face, because suddenly Gabriel is snorting. "I know, I can't believe they have the audacity to individually wrap each and every candy. Makes it so hard snack quietly."
Voice rough with sleep, Sam replies, "How dare they, it's the most important meal of the day." Gabriel nods.
"Knew you'd get it - now, do you want a caramel or a chocolate?"

"You ship us?" Dean asks incredulously.
"Uh, yeah." Sam says.
"You do understand what that means, right?" Dean blushes out of embarrassment. "You ship me and Cas as in handholding and movie dates? Like how those fans of Supernatural on Live Journal shipped us?"
"Uh-huh." Sam says with a grin. "Wait, hold on, Dean - don't talk about the fanfiction we found on Live Journal, we swore we wouldn't," he immediately adds with a grimace.
"Sorry, Sam." Dean mutters weakly, then, under his breath, "... Told you not to click it..."
"I think you'd make a good couple, really." Sam says, recovering from the cringe brought on by the Live Journal memories quickly.
"You can't be serious."
Sam is quiet for a few seconds, and in those few seconds Dean is outrageously thankful for his lack of words.
(Set during no particular period in canon. Left to the imagination for the most part. Oh, and I edited a bit. )

"Dean."
Something about the way his name
bursts into audible existence makes Dean think the sound was a gasp turned syllable at the last moment. "Good save," he thinks. Better than how he would have responded if faced with the same situation.So his little plan is working: Sam blushing and gawking, just like Dean knew he would.
He doesn't even bother to hide his grin as he finishes packing the lace panties in his bag, thanking a certain girl named Rhonda Hurley for enlightening him of these particular undergarments all those years ago.

...Dean feels a great pain.
And then something even more painful hits; he recognizes it as love. It hurts because he knows. It's a bruised, battered feeling because it's devastating to know.
It's a kind of despair. See, he loves someone now, and that is what his mind is playing on loop. There is this now. And there is no going back.
(Or, in which Dean falls in love with Sam and tries to understand it. Set during some ambiguous early season.)
