Summary
The last thing that Sgt James Barnes remembers is falling off of a train to his inevitable death.
He wakes up strapped to a table, surrounded by dead scientists. He has long hair, a metal arm, and no clue where he is. It’s going to take every skill he’s ever learned to work his way across unfamiliar territory and, hopefully, make it back to Allied forces.
Preferably before the Soviet redhead and her team manage to catch him.

He knew what he’d always wanted, ever since he was that little street rat who spent money he needed for food on making himself look clean. Because he’d needed to look clean and presentable to get into the public libraries. Because they wouldn’t have let a dirty homeless kid touch the books.
“I want to go to college.”
And Talia had made that happen for him.
(AU where, at the end of his League of Assassins training, Jason decides to go to Metropolis for college instead of going back to Gotham for revenge. Things spiral from there. The title is so sarcastic by the way. There’s nothing regular about Jason Todd.)

A wonderful rollercoaster of angst and humor. Jason is in fine dramatic form. No one has any chill whatsoever. Tim remains a smug little feral gremlin child.

The rambling cuts off abruptly, stony silence ringing from the other end of the line, but Jason knows Bruce is listening. Listening and running through several calculations on how someone— and who— could have gotten this number, while simultaneously tracking the call signal.
This is gonna be fucking gold.
