Summary

Eddie Munson is a fucking liar.
He doesn’t enjoy it or anything… well, that itself is a lie. Sort of. It depends on the reason he lies, if he enjoys it or feels guilty. If he’s lying in the face of bullies to get them off his ass, or to mock them, or trick them? Hell yeah, he enjoys it.
Lying to be near a cute boy who has no damn idea he exists?
Eddie feels like a dirty fuckin’ sinner.
or: Eddie can't swim, can't eat ice cream, and he doesn't have a VCR. Face it, he's never gonna make it. He lies about all three of those things to get close to Steve Harrington.

Summary
“I don’t have any folks,” Steve says, all matter of fact, like he’s telling Eddie the weather. “Because they turned me out.”
Eddie looks up at him. His head is spinning, a little dizzy from the drink, and he feels stupid for it. Not safe, when he’s gotten addicted to the way Steve licks his lip, chews on it with his teeth. “Why’s that?” he asks.
Steve turns and looks at Eddie. He’s pretty in the firelight, all golden glowing and flames reflected, dancing in his eyes. His mouth is twisted up in a bittersweet smile. He looks like a wary dog, longing for touch but too used to pain to accept any of Eddie’s gentle petting. Idly, Eddie thinks he’d pet Steve real nice if he’d let him. And, like he can read Eddie’s mind, Steve stands, crosses their campsite and sits himself down, right in Eddie’s lap.
“‘Cause of this,” he whispers, and leans down over Eddie, and catches his mouth in a kiss.
Or, Eddie doesn't much like Wayne's new hired hand that Eddie's going to be alone with all summer.

It happens like a fever dream.
The first time Steve gives Eddie a swift smack on the ass, it’s obviously just an old jock habit that’s stuck with him.
