How dystopian can it be when the view out the window is all the same color?
"They were so close, in fact, he could feel Hitoshi's breath ghost over his skin.
“Do you want to kiss me, too, Shouta?'"For years, Hizashi was the one to soothe Hitoshi through his rough heats, something Shouta accepted with some love child between pragmatism and procrastination. He struggled with change. He liked things simple. Unfortunately, action always crept up on his ankles like serpents to tie his clumsy feet together.
"Shouta remained frozen where he'd been left, reeling from the whiplash. The cute curve of the omega's cupid's bow sat in the forefront of his mind for far too long."
With his devoted partner gone for a business trip, Shouta finds himself against the wall of a conniving omega's firing squad.
"I’ll ride ‘til you pop, Alpha…”
If he was smart, he might've tried to save himself.
Briefly: Hizashi had always helped Hitoshi through his heats, in this dystopian alternate universe with oppressed omegas, but plot and reasons, and now it's up to Shouta to deal with it. May he survive Hitoshi, let alone his own unaddressed feelings---ew, feelings.
