Summary
[Canon/AU] Chizuru appears to be ordinary but isn't. The Shinsengumi have a disturbing secret to protect. The demons (Oni) have their own agenda for survival, but can't agree on the right approach. Can the Shinsengumi endure demonic lore? Can the demons adapt enough to heed their own legends? What happens as it becomes more obvious that the fate of the Oni is tied to the fate of certain individual Shinsengumi officers? And is somebody controlling them all from behind the scenes--and perhaps from a thousand years in the past? Plots, supernatural powers, Oni politics, history and romance. NOTE: This story relies on canon elements, details and characters throughout. Story events become more AU after the events at the Ikedaya Inn.

Summary
When the Shinsengumi discovers the existence of one Yukimura Chizuru, they send Saito to investigate the missing Doctor’s daughter. However, when he gets unexpectedly injured, Chizuru takes it upon herself to nurse this stranger back to health.
