Elena Gilbert was a giver. The experiences that she had been through had allowed her to help people, and counsel them to help them move on from their own traumatic experiences. She had lived through bloodthirsty tomb vampires and psychotic witches. After waking up from Kai's spell she decided to leave Mystic Falls, start fresh in a new place where no one knew her name and escape the vampires and the werewolves. She wanted to see more of the world even if it meant leaving Damon behind in Mystic Falls. Her new start, however, would be difficult when a hybrid walks into her therapist's office and she finds herself brought back into the life she wanted to leave behind.
