Summary
The ninja have been hired to protect the very high-society, very rich guests of a destination wedding. So why is Cole so nervous? Well, let’s just say it’s a lot harder to babysit billionaires when you’re having the worst romantic crisis of your life. Also, it’s between Kai and Nya.
Inspired by a conversation with a friend where we started joking about how if Kai was involved in the love triangle in season 3 it would’ve been like The Summer I Turned Pretty. So we started planning it, and here it is!

Well, if that wasn’t the vaguest possible thing someone who just dropped a baby on your porch could say, Mystaké didn’t know what else could possibly be said.
Mystaké, conducting her secondary appraisal on the baby- Lloyd- and her memory connecting the name Misako to the funeral she must be referring to in the letter, instantly came to the conclusion that this child (pup?) was absolutely her dear departed friend’s descendant.….
What if Mystaké raised Lloyd instead of Darkley’s?? (And taught him how to actually deal with his heritage?)

Summary
Sixty years ago, Emperor Garmadon took over Ninjago and the age of the Dark Empire began. After years of training, Kai and his companions attempt to finally put a stop to his evil rule, but their mission fails and Kai is the only one left in the ashes of their defeat. He's captured and tortured until the day comes that Emperor Garmadon finds a use for him—to become the personal bodyguard of his only son, Lloyd. Kai agrees with no intention of following through on any of Garmadon's orders, but when he becomes attached to the boy, he starts to believe that with Lloyd there is hope for the future.
But the road to hell is paved with good intentions. With his new life's purpose, to put the boy on a path of good, Kai is faced with the inevitable price of sacrificing his own soul.
All the while, the companions he'd thought long gone work relentlessly to build up a rebellion to face the Empire of the Darkest Night and get revenge for the supposed "death" of their lost friend.
