He has to balance the endless hours he commits to the case, his budding relationship with Kazuha after years of pining, and confusing feelings for a new friend named Kuzo. Meanwhile, Kazuha is falling rapidly in love with Kuzo, despite sensing that Kuzo is hiding a dark secret. He struggles with his feelings for this mysterious man, while holding on for dear life to his love for Heizou. All the while, Kuzo is pulling all the strings, playing them like a pair of puppets in a tragic romance.

Later in life, monsters other cultivators have a hard time dealing with start appearing dead on his doorstep. The Washer Woman who had promised to take care of the egg had named it Binghe, and the encounter with the unknown that shaped Shen Yuan’s scholarly career, had set something else in motion as well.
