Louis gave an amused sound. “You really want to read together baby? You’re not usually into books.”
That wasn’t necessarily true. Louis just never understood why Lestat didn’t finish the books he had attempted to read. He just thought Lestat didn’t enjoy them.
Why he thought that when Lestat had bought them hundreds of books was beyond his comprehension. He really did want to read them! He wanted to be cultured, he really did.
“Of course! It would be very nice to enjoy a novel together. And I love hearing your voice, Mon amour.” Lestat hoped this was enough to convince Louis. And he really hoped Louis didn’t question it.
To his companion’s credit, Louis didn’t question Lestat further. At least he didn’t have time to because Claudia stopped playing.
