The Steward's Council of minders grow resentful of their Empyrean's absence. And Miquella himself seems to have abandoned the Capital in pursuit of his own ambitions. Morgott sees the coming war, and he is determined not to leave the Erdtree and Leyndell defenseless. But to do so, he will have to become King. And to become King, he will enlist a Banished Knight to bear a Lord's sins.
