Summary
Tim is five years old when he drowns in his parents' pool. He dies quietly, waiting for parents who love him, but will never be there, to realise that something is wrong. They never show up, and he sinks into oblivion.
When he wakes up and claws his way out of the water, the sun has set, and the lights of his house are on. He is cold and wet and his lungs burn.
But most of all, Tim is alone.

Summary
Eight year olds Alejandro and Noah's parents were the closest of friends but Noah and Alejandro couldn't hate each other more. Despite their children's evident rivalry, Noah's parents make the arrangement to go on their annual trip to Paris but this time invites Alejandro's family to tag along with them. Their plan to have a fun family trip to form a relationship between Alejandro and Noah goes awry when in their initial lateness and the flurry of the morning, they accidentally leave Alejandro and Noah behind. A great source of despair draws Nightmare to an abandoned AU. There he finds an unfinished Sans with no name, no companions, no purpose, no world, and a soul. Nightmare gives him the option to get out of his abandoned, empty world. He accepts the offer but refuses to destroy anything or hurt people. Instead he finds another purpose. In return the Bad Sanses give him a home, companions, a life, and a name. They call him Ink.
