Summary
In this world, Katniss and Peeta don’t exist, which means no revolution—at least for now. The familiar setting remains: 12 districts, the Hunger Games, and the Capitol. However, this version is set in the omegaverse—because why not? Thomas, an omega, and Teresa, a beta, are siblings. Being born in District 12 is bad enough, but being an omega on top of that? That’s about as bad as it gets, and unfortunately, that’s Thomas’s reality. On the day of the Reaping, Teresa is originally selected as a tribute, but Thomas, being Thomas, volunteers in her place, becoming the first person from District 12 to ever volunteer. Minho, an alpha and a former childhood friend of Thomas, is also selected. Their friendship had fallen apart after Minho insulted omegas, calling them useless and only good for breeding—a wound that still lingers.

Every five years there is an event called the Lottery, where omega’s are chosen to be fought over by alpha’s in a gladiator style arena.
Every five years the participating countries take turns hosting the event, wherein the alpha’s fight the others to submission until one comes out the winner and succeeds in securing an omega.

“What am I to do with you, little bird?”
The soldier knew better than to leave you here, so he gently folded your hands on your stomach and drew your knees together. Slipping an arm beneath your legs and another beneath your back, he lifted you up in his arms bridal style, standing up with little effort.
You head dropped against his shoulder, and König just gazed down at your unconscious face. There was something serene about the way you looked, perfectly unaware of the chaos and conspiracies surrounding you. In that moment, he wanted to make it all disappear so that you could wake up in an environment that would bear no hostility towards you.
Yet, he knew such a wish was futile in the face of current facts. He shouldn’t even wish that for you, he should wish for answers – answers that only you could provide them. Still, he couldn’t help the way he felt in the moment. But as sweet as it was, it was a fleeing moment.
“You hang on tight there, little bird,” he murmured softly, fixing your position in his arms once to carry you comfortably.
“König has you. You’ll be alright…”
