Summary
It takes almost thirty minutes of listening to Maya rant about the latest instance of terrible writing on the Steel Samurai reboot for Phoenix to snap.
“But the worst part is the potential, Nick, the potential!! Those stupid network executives absolutely ruined what could have been—“
“Maya. Please, for the love of god, stop stalling.” Phoenix groans.
The line falls silent for a moment, and when Maya speaks again she sounds sheepish.
“It’s just…” She goes on, voice turning serious again. “You’re not gonna like this.”
Phoenix swallows, stomach suddenly twisting in knots.
“Who’s been accused of murder now?” He jokes weakly.
“It’s nothing like that…” Maya says. “It’s, um. Well.”
“Wh- hey, what is it? Is everyone okay?” Phoenix asks.
“Edgeworth has a boyfriend!” Maya blurts.
Phoenix blinks at the surface of his desk.
“Edgeworth. Has a boyfriend.” He repeats blankly.

“Of course, you are more than welcome here, for as long as you’d like.” is Emma’s instant and smooth reply, delivered with an effortless aplomb that is well-suited to her Chief Councilor role; there’s no hiding the sharpness of her eyes, however, that intelligent glint that speaks of veiled suspicion and careful calculations. “Any friend of Maelle is a friend of ours.”
As expected, Maelle is more than ecstatic by Emma’s easy acceptance, but her mood quickly plummets when she spots Gustave’s less-than-thrilled expression: if looks could kill, Verso is pretty sure he would be lying in a pool of his own blood by now, but after some uncomfortable staring the man just scoffs and looks quickly on the side, cheeks flushed by what Verso can only presume is a good dose of barely repressed anger. “...Sure, whatever. If that’s what Maelle wants.”
(After making a promise to each other at the Canvas' edge, Maelle restores Lumiére to its former splendor, and Verso tries to live his life in it as simply and unobtrusively as possible.
Too bad that Gustave absolutely hates Verso's guts, and Verso's blossoming feelings for Gustave are of a complete opposite nature.)

Jaskier has been in love with Geralt for as long as he's known him. Loving Cirilla was even easier.
Jaskier hummed, then nudged Geralt’s arm. “I’ll put her down. You go to sleep.”
“You don’t have to--” Geralt started, raising an eyebrow at him.
“I know I don’t have to. But I’m awake and slept through the other possibly four times. You could use your sleep.” Jaskier held out his arms expectantly, but still Geralt hesitated. “C’mon. I’ll let you handle Dad duty by yourself tomorrow. Accept my help this time. Doesn’t make her any less yours.”
