Summary
Kidd & Killer met in 7th grade shop class. Two outsiders with nothing in common other than having no friends. Both new to the school, Kidd too young, Killer too old.
Maybe not friends, but its nice to have one class where not everyone actively tries to disclude you.
Chapters will likely be short, a class by class look as the two move though the school year.

Summary
Kidd has been an all or nothing kind of man his whole life. He filled his ranks with the same mindset - go big or die trying. At least, they'd all had certainly thought so, until the die part of die trying loomed over them, pushing them under the waves of the Grand Line in one last glorious blaze. The Victoria Punk - their home - burning around them, corpse slowly lost to the sea. But she gave up little parts of herself as life lines, flotsam rising to the surface for those not ready for the sea's embrace.

The story was already written. Their plight always set to follow this path. Nothing changes. Except...
Ciara was the youngest surviving child of Fergus MacDouglas & his wife Ninsun; and while she has her father's fair golden hair, she is the closest any of her siblings came to matching her mother's darker complexion. When her mother is killed during one of the raids on Kutsk - one of many across the expanse of the South Blue by the Marines on orders of the World Government, a young Ciara finds her life upended and has to learn to survive a world no child should have to navigate at such a tender age.

Summary
Growing up in a remote rural county, a young Eustass Kidd falls in with the slightly older group of fellow misfits as they navigate the precarious balance of walking a tight-rope of being themselves and not being ostracized by the community at large.
Already other-ed by his looks, his age, and his interests, Kidd is set further apart when an accident leaves him without a father and without a left arm - just on the cusp of achieving his first milestone of person-hood - the drivers license. In a world where the rest of life happens miles away, Kidd fears being left behind even more. But the group of weirdos he's been tottling after for the last decade won't let that happen. And since following the rules as never been part of their repertoire, they find new ways to make sure Kidd never misses out on those teenage moments. His closest neighbor and friend Killer steps up to be his personal chauffeur, as they two of them find a way for Kidd to take back the helm of his own life back.
But will Kidd realize just how much his new partner gives up so he can have this little piece of normal for himself, or will Killer's own insecurities leave him under the water as he hold's Kidd's head high?

Killer chuckled. The sound was wrong, making him tense and grating on his already shredded nerves.
He hadn’t known the purpose of the fruit when he’d eaten it. He’d just known that obeying Orochi was all he could do to give Kid a better chance of getting out of there alive.
It may have given Kid a better chance, but Killer was pretty sure it was going to be the death of him.

"Oh, it's you," they say at the same time.
It had taken Kid a moment to recognize Strawhat under all those bandages. The guy was also tipped on his side, flashing his whole ballsack to the world, so he thinks he can be forgiven for not being familiar with this particular view.
Trafalgar screw you over? Kid thinks but doesn't ask. Pirate alliances aren't made to last, it seems.
Strawhat finally sits up. "Ugh," he grumbles. "Stupid Kaido."
"He kick your ass too?"
In lieu of answering, Strawhat's brow furrows deeper, wrinkling the gauze stretched tightly across it.
"Shit sucks." Kid readjusts his coat. The floor is exactly as comfy as one would expect solid rock to be. "Welcome to the losers' club."

With Wano behind them, Killer dreams of a red tide. Every night the tide rises higher, threatening to swallow a man who can no longer keep himself afloat.

The captain asks, "What are you afraid of, Killer?"
A boorish question, which gets under Killer's skin. It was meant to, of course. But ostracizing the dreams has only made them more intrusive—a beast that stalks nearer each time he looks away—as though Killer could possibly fail to understand the threat in their meaning.
Killer knows how much blood a man can lose before he dies. It's in the name, the epithet, and the reputation. The problem is that Kid's blood has always run hot, and Killer remembers how it had poured through his fingers, feeling as though it were filling up his lungs instead.
