The bartender, a suave man with tattoos and a rugged kind of charm, slid her margarita over to her and tilted his head at Colin. “He bothering you?”
Slightly taken aback by the question - if anything, from an outsider’s point of view, it was sure to look as though she was the one bothering him. Colin hadn’t so much as glanced her way in the ten minutes they’d been sitting there.
“No,” she replied, letting out an awkward chuckle as she cast a sideways glance at Colin, who was staring at the bartender with an odd look in his eye.
Before she could continue, though, he interrupted her.
“I’m her boyfriend, mate,” said Colin coldly, in a tone he hardly ever used. It sounded foreign in his voice, this restrained anger. Penelope blinked at him, shocked. “Fuck off, will you?”
