    I've been frustrated for a very long time about how there's no Romeo and Juliet translations I can find that truly get the humour across. Romeo and Juliet is truly a very funny show, before the tragedy strikes. Too many educational platforms are too scared to properly translate the dirty jokes, and I think that's a tragedy, because dirty jokes are like half of the damn play.
    A lot of translations also fail to translate tone. They translate the words, sure, but the joking, or sarcastic, or otherwise interesting tones are completely lost in the way they do it. That's the real tragedy, honestly.

    Anyway. I'm currently working on a Romeo and Juliet project, and I want people to be able to understand it when I publish it, so I'm giving you all this first, as a reference. Might hand it over to high school English and theatre teachers, we'll see lol

    Regarding the tags: I'm only doing canonical character deaths/violence, and I will not be writing any sex scenes- I only include that tag because it is implied in the play that Romeo and Juliet slept together, and they are both minors

    “His aloofness,” Ben repeats, chuckling into his mug of beer. It’s roughly the size of Johnny’s head. “Yeah, sure, I bet that’s all your admire, right?”
