Summary
“It has come to the attention of the royal family,” Cyno had said, flat and impersonal, “that you are a gifted linguist. Her Majesty requests your presence in three days time, after the evening meal. You know where to go.”
The final words were spoken with a tight throat. It was never revealed how the information reached the court, only that Cyno was sorry. Alhaitham tucks his blame away. They both keep secrets. Everything is bound to spill over sooner or later.
