Of course I understand what he’s saying, I’m not bird-brained. I simply see no reason to grace him with a sign – my divinity isn’t something to be proven, it simply exists, and as my believer he should be aware of this. Therefore, I don’t answer his call.
“What am I doing,” he says and laughs.
I answer this inquiry with clawing at his thigh. Too much talking, not enough petting. I’m in a mood for scratches.
