Summary
Billy Batson has a secret: he’s the world’s mightiest mortal, Captain Marvel. He's also a senior journalism major at MSU. When he lands an internship at the Daily Planet, he’s thrilled to work under his newfound literary crush, the Pulitzer-winning (and surprisingly mild-mannered) Clark Kent, the deputy editor of the Investigations desk.
It should be easy—just avoid turning into a superhero in the office, try not to reveal his crush on his mentor, and figure out why the normally unflappable Superman seems so flustered around him lately.

“Oh yeah, hmmm, I'll put that on the to-do list once Batman forges all the paperwork for him and stuff,” Billy says, making a mental note to himself. Then he remembers what he should actually be prioritizing at the moment and immediately turns his full attention to Superboy with an encouraging smile. “Um! So, anyway! Hi, I'm Captain Marvel, it's nice to meet you, Superboy. What's your name? Nobody in the League knew when I asked. I mean, if that's not rude, I don't know if you want Kid Flash and his parents to know it or if you're even ready to tell me yet, sorry, maybe I shouldn't actually have asked.”
“. . . uh,” Superboy says, looking even more bemused. “It’s Superboy.”
“. . . oh, okay, so we're just starting totally from scratch here, huh,” Billy realizes, repressing a little wince.
“Very much so, yes,” Mrs. West says, looking resigned.

Summary
Captain Marvel was a pretty strange guy, the League all agreed, with how strange his knowledge base was, not to mention his secret identity not even Batman could get a hold on. But some things don't need a whole explanation for people to care, and the League will keep prying to try to help.
And Billy will have to keep dodging, but maybe- just maybe- he has a way to get out of this without his life falling apart.
