At that moment, Ilya knew he was hallucinating, and that he’d hit his head a lot harder than he thought.
Because here was Shane fucking Hollander— in his fucking kitchen, wearing his fucking clothes. He was making borscht.
“What the fuck,” Ilya croaked.

Summary
“Robby’s fine.” Robby realized they were still shaking hands, slow up and down, and managed to pull his hand back. “You’re, uh. Abbot?”
“Two b’s, one t, that’s me,” Jack had responded, grin still there. “Jack’s fine, though.”
“Nice to meet you.”
“It is, isn’t it?” Jack’s confident, tilted-back expression surprised another laugh out of Robby. The next one came easier. The next breath, too.
That kept happening for the next five years: Jack, talking him through it, making him laugh unexpectedly. Robby returned the favor when he could, and came up in the morning when Jack needed another body around to help him back up from the ledge. It worked. They worked, the two of them.
As should be expected, this fic deals with suicidality of various levels of active-ness. Also the normal triggers for the show apply. Take care of yourselves.

Summary
Herbert willed his eyes open. Without his glasses, his vision was slightly blurred, but he could still make out the achingly fond smile on Dan’s face. “I’m awake.”
“Barely,” Dan laughed, but he was cut off by a yawn.
Herbert yawned in kind. Afterwards, they both looked at each other, fondness blooming from the inside out, warmer than the burning water that pounded them both. Once Herbert had accepted he would be forced to rest, he’d always let the exhaustion consume him and allow it to show. Herbert reached up and tapped the back of Dan’s neck. Dan leaned forward, letting Herbert reach to wash his hair in return. Dan always felt slightly honored whenever Herbert deigned to return the intimacy Dan offered.
As they stood there, the streaks of blood that had splattered their bodies where the scrubs did not cover ran down their legs and turned the water at their feet a light pink, slowly swirling down the drain.
Herbert and Dan have been up working for 26 hours. Finally, they go to bed.

Summary
[He swallowed again, raising the phone to his ear, squeezing his eyes tight.
It only rang twice before his dad picked up. “Hey, kiddo.”
Even at fifty-four years old, Robby was still his kiddo. Robby choked on a sob. “Hey, abba.”
“Whoa, you okay?”
Robby swallowed, hating how a whimper slipped out. “No. No, I’m not okay. Can you come get me?” He honestly did not trust himself enough to drive at the moment. Not over the bridge and at least half an hour away, probably more with traffic.
“Yeah, of course. Where are you?” There was shuffling on the other end of the line.
Except Robby didn’t know how to answer. He was at the park, but he didn’t want to wait half an hour there for his dad to pick him up. He also wanted a shower and to change. To get the awful day off of him. But he also was afraid to walk home. Was afraid he’d do something dumb.
“Can you pick me up at my apartment? But—but stay on the line?” That would keep him accountable. He couldn’t let something happen to himself if his dad was listening.
“Yeah, kiddo. Half an hour.”]

Summary
Jack’s pacing near the stove, a mug in his hand he isn’t drinking from, waiting for the moment to arrive like a bus that’s running late. When he finally speaks, it’s abrupt — no lead-up, no softening, just, “Hey. I’m pregnant.”
Robby doesn’t even look up right away. “Yeah, sure,” He says, distracted. He’s frowning at a clue, pen tapping against his lip. “Six letters, means miracle-worker. Could be Elijah.”
“I ain’t jokin’.”
“Uh-huh.” Robby hums, half-listening, still buried in the puzzle. “Maybe Moses fits. You mean bloated, right? I told you, seltzer helps.”
