He let his mind drift; fragmented thoughts pushed at the edges of his psyche like wisps of cloud. He didn’t try to hang onto any of them, but let them distract him from his worries of what was happening with Will.
A sudden, deliciously forbidden thought flashed through his mind - one he’d entertained in the confines of his own darkened bed, but it had never seen the light of day, let alone entered with such conviction at a more inconvenient hour.

In the quiet of the kitchen, Will has no trouble hearing the unmistakable sound of Hannibal's sharp intake of breath. He looks up at him and sees the eyes of a predator. His pupils are wide and his mouth is slightly agape, showing the barest of teeth.
Will’s nervous system is hit with the fight or flight signal, the one that kept his ancestors alive for millions of years, and he chooses to ignore it. Instead, Will wants to rub the pad of his thumb against Hannibal’s teeth to test their sharpness.

It’s not like Hannibal didn’t know that Will was hiding something. It was after the third body drop a week ago that it became clear that Will had a secret that somehow involved the case, one he wasn’t willing to share yet, not even with Hannibal.
At 6:43 AM, Will had texted Hannibal that a fourth body had been found and that he was on his way to the scene with Jack.
At 8:06 PM, Will had stepped into Hannibal’s office, thirty-six minutes past his appointment time, and practically shouted “I used to be a stripper!” as loudly as his hoarse voice would allow him to.
Hannibal Lecter, though not phased by much in life, has never been entirely able to predict Will Graham, but this is just… getting out of control.

Anybody who knows Hannibal Lecter knows that he is very meticulous about the state of his kitchen. After all, he spends most of his free time experimenting with culinary masterpieces from history or of his own design for both himself and the various dinner guests he has. Everything is always pristine, not a crumb or speck of grease (or blood) to be seen on his countertops. Everything is always kept in running order for convenience and efficiency.
So, when an entire row of lights above his workspace suddenly goes out, the fridge stops humming, and the clock on the oven goes black, for several, very unsettling seconds while his eyes adjust to the abrupt disappearance of light, Hannibal does not know what to do.
_________________When things start breaking in Hannibal's home, Will Graham always comes to his rescue.
