Summary
Jared could say that his life is pretty much all dedicated to the sport he loves the most - and is great at, if he may say so himself: basketball. He got himself a scholarship to attend UT Austin and plays for the college’s team. He could be very well considered the star of the team… if he didn’t have to share the spotlight with Jensen. Fucking. Ackles. Despite having undeniable chemistry on court, they just can’t stand each other and have nothing in common. Or at least they thought so.
When Padalecki suddenly takes a year off to study abroad, Jensen is totally okay with it. He goes on with his plan to keep upping his game and hopefully become a professional player someday. But the thing with life is that sometimes it throws a curveball at you. Or dunks the ball on your head. And sometimes, that ball shatters all the dreams you built. Jensen finds himself dealing with a whole new reality he’s not ready for, and doesn’t want to face. And what is even more ironic, is when the one person who Jensen honestly didn’t want to find out what happened is the only one who can help to get him back in the game in a way Jensen never imagined. And also brings along a feeling he thought was buried very deep down.

Summary
December 2015: More than two years ago, a stupid one-night-stand destroyed not only Jared's relationship but most of all his friendship with Jensen. Since then, Jared hasn't heard from Jensen, hasn't even thought much about him anymore, until he receives a letter from his former best friend and boyfriend. Is this letter enough to meet Jensen again and can this meeting be the start of something new?

Looking for a new chance in life after fate has struck hard, his new job for Morgan Constructions brings Jared to Three Oaks, Nebraska, where his task is to buy property for the town development. One of the properties is Dressler Farm: a rundown house in an overgrown yard, surrounded by dark hedges. Although it looks deserted, Jared meets a mysterious green-eyed man there, wearing rags, close to starving, uneducated and naive. He doesn't know much, not even his name. To protect Guy, as Jared calls him, from starving and freezing to death, he convinces him to come and live with him for the time being. It's the start of a wonderful friendship that quickly changes into something deeper, until the shadows of the past catch up with both of them.

Just for giggles—and because some alcohol may have been involved—Jared and Jensen put together an audition tape for the reality TV show The Amazing Race. It came out so well that Jared may have talked Jensen into letting him submit it. Neither of them ever expected anyone would actually watch it, let alone that it would get anywhere. Both eventually forgot about it. Then the call for an in-person interview came. How does Jared break the news to Jensen? Jared is excited. Jensen is less than. But Jensen hasn’t turned down a challenge yet… unless it involved heights.
