He doesn’t know why he picks it up. It’s just a piece of light blue plastic, trash really, which may not belong here, but plenty of things don’t and he’s never felt a need to pick them up. He turns it around in his hand but the thing offers no answers and eventually it finds its way into his jacket pocket, while he tells himself he’s going to throw it in the first trash can he sees (a lie, obviously, but he’s told himself plenty of those in the last 24 hours, one more isn’t going to hurt him).

He was a betrayer, a liar, that had pushed what was left of his family away. For a long time, he was sick with himself; now, he was just sick with the world. There had been a war. Tamora Monroe had brought them together to fight a common cause, but they went their separate ways when it was all over. Scott McCall had let him work to protect the pack until the war ended, but he wouldn’t tolerate it afterward. There was no surprise there; Scott had never been his biggest fan, and vice versa. Peter had slunk off in the middle of the night, promising to continue his mission. He would hunt them to extinction, not that he told any of them that.
Then out of nowhere, Stiles Fucking Stilinski had claimed the kill without Peter noticing that he was in the area. What could possibly go wrong?
