Summary
What happens when Eddie moves to Texas to be with Chris? It's simple, Buck loses it.
Bobby is dead, and he does not know how to handle it. He feels like he is drowning, sinking deeper and deeper, and no one is there to save him. It would be easier to jump into the sea and end it for good this time.
His phone pings. Eddie is coming back for Bobby's funeral, and he needs to go pick him up. He turns around and heads for his car, back to Eddie's house. I'll see him one last time, he thinks.Or Eddie leaves, Bobby dies, and Buck is depressed. He's suicidal, but Eddie comes back, and he needs to see him one last time.

“But… you’re straight.”
Eddie snorts, taking a sip of his beer. “I am well aware of that, Buck.”
“So why do you want to take me on dates?” Buck asks incredulously. “Won’t that make you uncomfortable?”
That makes Eddie sit up straighter, a frown playing on his lips. “I already told you that you being into men changes nothing between us. I meant that.”
“Okay, fine, great. That doesn’t mean you have to start buying me romantic dinners.”
“I don’t have to do anything,” Eddie points out. “I want to. At the very least so that you understand what romance really looks like and don’t settle for a dickwad like Tommy ever again.”

Following Chris’ discovery of Eddie’s relationship to the carbon-copy of his late-mother, Kim, the boy is forced to go on the annual Diaz-Buckley camping trip. He attempts to stay silent and sane while finalizing a plan of escape while Buck shoulder the burden of keeping the peace.
Eddie gravels with many losses, including the ability control his own body around his best friend, apparently.

“I mean I knew you were…” his friend looked him up in down in a way that made his stomach turn, “pent up. But not… this badly. I mean you haven’t even—““No,” Eddie interrupted, reaching for the handle of the family bathroom automatically. Buck didn’t seem phased, just entering as his friend held the door. “I haven’t…”
Buck made an up and down motion with his hands clasped.
Eddie flushed deeper, grunting, “Yeah. That. It hasn’t felt very… deserved after what I did.”
His friend nodded, crossing over to the sink. “I mean, I guess. But you seriously haven’t— I mean it’s… I feel like that’s a medically necessary thing to—“
“Most Catholics are celibate for a majority of their lives.”
“Well, most Catholics probably have frequent wet dreams, then.”

Summary
Evan Buckley has the worst luck. He knows it. His team knows it. Maddie dealt with it his entire upbringing. It’s become a simple fact of life. The sky is blue, grass is green, and Evan Buckley has god-awful luck. If a crushed leg (due to toppled fire truck), a pulmonary embolism at the ripe age of 27, being caught in a tsunami with his best friend’s son, and an honest to god lightning strike weren’t enough proof of the matter, stepping on a bomb is all the confirmation he really didn’t need.
Edmundo Diaz has faced far too much death in his lifetime to be afraid of it. In fact, he’s spent most of his life staring down the barrel of a gun, metaphorically and physically. Quite honestly, Santa Muerte himself could appear before Eddie’s very eyes and he would just count it as another Tuesday. So being in close proximity to a live explosive? Not even the worst thing he’s had to deal with in recent years. Really, not even the worst thing he's had to deal with this week. But his best friend standing on the trigger? Eddie’s never been afraid of death. Until he found himself standing between it and his best friend.
