Summary
Somehow, still, in the fog of himself, Vessel recognizes II as the brightest shining star. He rolls his head so he can watch II’s path toward him, and when II stands with his feet together near Vessel’s shoulder, Vessel tips his chin upward so he can stare at him.
II smiles at him, something warm in his soft expression. “Hello, Ves,” he says. “You ready?”
This is the part that has never been easy.
What he wants is on the other side of a gaping chasm, one that feels too insurmountable to pass.

Summary
As he nears the floor in question, he hears a murmuring of more voices on a morning during workday hours than should be present. He pushes through the door to the correct floor and finds a corridor glutted with tenants, whispering urgently between each other and all focused on a singular flat.
The crowd turns to eye him suspiciously. He ignores how disconcerting the feeling of that many eyes on him feels as he pushes through the throng of bodies. Some people move out of the way, but he pushes his way through the toughest looking men, gangbangers and chavs, who don’t until he stands in the open doorway of the flat.
A child screams gutturally inside the flat.

Summary
The water is filling his lungs.
He scrunches his eyes to fight off the salt already burning deep up his nose, threatening to flood his whole body as he sinks, sinks…
He could swim up, but he doesn’t. He could be scared, but he isn’t. He’s resigned to die. To be buried in the cold, dark ocean, and become one of the many forgotten things that call it their tomb.
He’s sinking, deeper and deeper, feeling his body go stiff as the icy darkness wraps around his limbs.
The last blue light of the surface has abandoned him.
And he can’t be sad, can he? He knows that he chose this, after all. Even if he can’t remember it. Even if the tiniest inkling of regret is creeping up on him with each bit of light lost.
He goes limp, parting his lips to let the water in.Bookmarked by Vayenta

Summary
“Besides…” Vore drawls, slow and deliberate as she curls around Vessel’s side to watch what little of his reactions she could see with his hood and mask, “how else is a follower of a deity supposed to know just how special their particular method of worship is if their god doesn’t lay down their divinity and devour them whole? Love is such a raw emotion, little god, something that mortals think they know everything about as they try to take it from their peers, and deities try to fill themselves with while they know nothing about it. To love is to offer yourself up on a golden platter with your stomach bared, ready to be devoured; to desire is to dream that, one day, it will be you who is the one who shall feast.”
Oh. The idea that II might not even know just how special he is to Vessel hurts his heart in a way that the man cannot even begin to describe.
