It's funny how three years can feel like a lifetime, and— at the same time— feel like no time has passed at all. Of course, she was a different person, then. Once upon a time three years ago, she had been Jinx. Member of the Hive Five, a rising villain... Then lightning struck. Or, rather, Kid Flash happened. He believed in her, convinced her to try the hero route. It didn't really stick. Not for lack of trying, though. Her powers went on the fritz, because of course they did.
She's bad luck, after all. Good was never an option for her.
But, maybe normal can be.
Now, she's attending Taggart University, still trying to figure out who she is without Jinx. She changes her name, changes her image. When she looks in the mirror, she's unrecognizable to the girl she was three years ago.
"You're not Jinx anymore," she whispers, a small comfort to her ears. "Even Kid Flash wouldn't recognize this."

AU. Oneshot. In the near future, Zeref decided to make the first move in the upcoming war and led an attack on Fairy Tail. He successfully retrieved Lumen Histoire and accomplished the first few steps of his plan in one go. While waiting for the next stage of his plan to fall in place, Zeref took the chance to breathe and talk to his dearest friend. Could be seen as implied Zervis.
