He knows he has never called his Hia Win this before, and he does not know if he ever will. All he knows is he probably needs to hear it now— needs the extra comfort. The softness. So, Team takes a deep breath in, turns away from their friends who are sitting around the table and looking at Win with concern. He rubs his hand over Win’s back and leans in so that Win can hear him clearly.
“Baby,” he murmurs, the embarrassment he feels turning his cheeks scarlet. He has never been the one to use these words of affection and he rarely lets Win use them. But he knows Win and he knows what exactly he needs. He’s proven right when Win finally, finally slowly lifts his head to look at him, his eyes soft, full of an emotion Team can’t place.
“What did you just call me?” Win whispers in disbelief, eyes widening when he realises they're still in public.

“Shane! please,” Ilya shouts, his voice cracking. “Come on.”
His vision blurs as tears spill over. He doesn’t care who hears him. He doesn’t care about the cameras, the crowd, the league, the rules they spent seven long years obeying. He’s just five steps away now as he falls onto his knees, his hands against the ice, as his tears streak down his face.
Shane’s mouth is covered by a medic pressing a CPR face mask against his mouth pumping air into his lungs.

Hollander seemed genuinely hurt by the suggestion, his big dark eyes fixed on the tiled flooring at Ilya’s feet. For a moment, he looked like he was about to cry again. “It doesn’t matter if it’s yours... Which it is, by the way. You fucking asshole.” He twitched. “But it’s not like we’re together. Whatever choice I make, I wouldn’t ask anything of you.”
“Good.” Ilya said coldly. He kind of felt like he was going to cry too. He wasn’t quite sure why. “I’m glad you know this.”
“Fine.”
