Summary
Kaeya shakes his head, none of them have a good feeling about this one, but it’s just standard procedure. The domain had reportedly appeared out of thin air, startling several adventurers going about their business. A few had gone in, but still haven’t returned a few days later. So now it’s the knights’ business.
He had offered to investigate the phenomenon himself, but the Acting Grandmaster took one look at his slumped posture and ordered Kaeya to take at least 3 people with him.
So here they are. Their Outrider, as she was assigned to make sure he actually takes this order seriously and doesn’t do anything stupid. Master Diluc, who Kaeya didn’t even ask but rather the man heard he was investigating a new domain and decided to go with them. How generous. Ugh. And lastly, the Honorary Knight, as she just always happens to be there when things go awry.
A charming bunch for sure.

Hajime keeps finding himself drawn back to him, chasing a feeling he doesn’t quite understand and telling himself he should know better than to follow it. Yet, every time he gets close enough to finally understand what that feeling might be, Nagito is already stepping out of reach.
But even as Nagito keeps pushing him away, Hajime isn’t the type to give up so easily.

Summary
There are things that people take for granted without realizing. Hypothetically, it’s obvious that one would think to be grateful for what they have on occasion. For example, reading a sad story, hearing about an unfortunate accident— these are things that remind people to hold tighter to their loved ones in their hearts. Only briefly, of course. Then things go back to normal, and it’s only natural for one to be oblivious once again.
It is only when things happen— horrible, unexpected and unfortunate things— that one realizes just what they had been blind to. They’ll end up looking at the rest of the world in loathing and bitter disbelief, wondering how everyone can walk around in ignorance of what they have.
The most hatred they’ll hold will be towards their past self though. They’ll curse themselves until the day they die.
Or at least, that’s how Diluc felt when Kaeya killed himself.
