"His eyes, blue as the clearest waters, always held some sort of hesitancy even in his open flirting- with her and everyone around him. She doesn’t consider herself any more special than the other Humans, and it did sting a little when she realized he’s like that with everyone. Every single time she felt like maybe, just maybe, he’s a little different with her; she sees someone else gazing at him the same way she does.
She’s made her peace with this reality a few weeks in. They flirt, they banter, and sometimes a glance or two lingers just a bit longer than it should. Then he hands her another bowl of soup, she thanks him, and that’s it. That’s all there is.
There’s no reason for her heart to jolt with electricity every time they accidentally touch, no reason for her breath to hitch when he looks at her. She has no reason to feel any of this.

“What are we gonna do, Tish? How will we get out of this mess?” Reth asks quietly.
She shrugs her shoulders.
“I might have a solution, if I am allowed to offer one.”
Her ocean eyes seek the other man sitting quietly in his chair at the other end of the table. His hands lay folded neatly on the table but his index finger taps against the wood. Their gaze meets, hesitancy swirling in his light grey orbs. She nods softly, urging him wordlessly to go along.
“Your parents have been friends with Lady Sifuu Kuza for a very long time. So have I. She is a strong ally in this. I-” Ashura stops, contemplating his next words. “I have taken the agency of contacting her in hopes she would agree to a marriage between you, my Lady, and her son, Lord Hassian.”
Her whole body tenses. She forces herself to take a deep breath, trying desperately to swallow the nausea filling her belly. If only she could hide that mind-numbing fear behind the overplayed interest she displays on the surface. Her face feels like stone, heavy and unmoving.
“So be it then,” she says, abruptly ending her trail of thought. “I will marry Hassian Kuza and become his wife.”

It's sad, almost, how she isn't even surprised when the first flash of heat races through her. Ironic, in a way, how she is the happiest she has ever been in her whole life and that is the moment fate decides to take her. She doesn't even get a whole day to celebrate their survival. Not even an hour to bathe in the golden joy of victory and sink into the lighthearted embrace of her friends.

Gods, fate is a cruel bitch. If she could, she would fight it tooth and nail but in a way, she knows, she already has. She's lived longer than expected. She outstayed her welcome in this plane of existence for far longer than anyone would've thought in the beginning.

The rocket hit the Council Tower, breaking it in pieces and it was like the sky was splitting open to share all the tears the people of Piltover were crying over their Council members. The tears Caitlyn was crying over the mere thought of her mother in that tower. It hasn’t stopped ever since.
It’s like it’s taunting her. It hasn’t stopped in days like it keeps wanting to remind her of every single thing she’s ever done wrong. Leaving Powder in the rain. Breaking her promise in the rain. Leaving Caitlyn in the rain. Then holding her in the rain as they watched fire and smoke take over the city Caitlyn loved. And then leaving her again…in the rain. Like a fucking coward.

Irbisica wakes up in an unknown land with no memory and no idea who she is. She tries to fit in and fend for herself, while also dealing with several rather peculiar occurrences - like a ghost inhabiting the house she's been temporarily given, mysterious forest creature hunting people - and the forest itself, as it appears to be a sentient being with a mind of its own. On top of that she finds herself very interested in the resident hunter.
There's also a very moody cat, because I can't write a story without a cat.
