    Kaminari Denki doesn't remember the name his parents gave him. At this point, it didn't even matter. Kaminari Denki was the name on his legal papers, as well as the name he answered to. Most importantly, Kaminari Denki was the name he thought of as his own.

    Kaminari Denki was a student at UA High, a hero in training, and a boy loved by all his classmates.

    It wasn't always this way.

    (The boy named 'Golden' was an assassin for hire, one of the best. Once upon a time, killing hundreds for some petty money had been his entire identity. Once upon a time, it was all he ever knew. They called him the Thunder God, back then.

    But one dark winter night nearly three years ago, he ran. Ran, as far and as long as he could and left them all behind.)

    Sometimes, the only way out is to face your past, to face it head-on with your head held high and shoulders back. He had been trying to keep his past and his present separate for so long, maybe it's time to remember both Golden and Denki were one and the same, both a part of him.

    It didn't have to be a bad thing.

    (OR In which not all assassins are bad, a revaluation stirs, Himiko has morals, and unsurprisingly, Aizawa is tired.)

    Kaminari Denki never in his life would’ve guessed that he would be a high school student enrolled at UA, and in the hero course nonetheless. Life was not kind to Kaminari. Being abducted at a young age wasn’t his fault. Being recruited to become an assassin wasn’t his fault. Enduring years of tireless bouts of training wasn’t his fault. Killing hundreds upon hundreds of victims wasn’t his fault.

    At least that’s what he tells himself at night.

    Kaminari is determined to bury his past and leave it far behind him. But when you’re in a course full of hero hopefuls, secrets don’t tend to stay secrets.

    Tl;dr: Kaminari Denki was part of an organization that trained children to become assassins. When he runs away, determined to start anew, he’s almost successful. But fate has other plans in store for this class idiot.
