As he's idly scanning the room, somewhat lost in thought, something catches his eye--a little purple nub peeking out of the cracked-open closet door. Aziraphale had asked him not to open any doors or drawers, but since this one is already slightly ajar, Crowley doesn't see the harm in investigating.
What he finds, balanced on top of a stack of books and a few boxes, is a large, purple plush snake.

“Oh!” says Stede. Ed can feel the wheels in Stede’s head click into place, although whatever clue that Mary just gave them wasn’t something that Ed understood at all. “Are congratulations in order?”
“Congratulations for what?” says Ed. No one responds.
“Well, no,” says Mary. “That’s, er, the problem.”
Kink meme prompt: Mary and Doug are very happily married and want to have a child, but after trying for a while, they figure out Doug is unable. So, they have idea! Mary calls on her ex-husband to, um, fill in. He’s already fathered 2 children with her, he should be successful for another and Doug would raise it as his own.
Meanwhile, while they are requesting this of Stede, Ed is sitting next to him like “excuse me????” It’s a very interesting conversation for the 4 of them. But Stede agrees because he wants to help out. Not looking for the sex to be super awkward with him and Mary, but maybe a little funny. Maybe Doug and Ed are standing outside the door listening. Whatever. The 4 are friends and everyone is okay with it (even if Ed is a bit possessive and moody).
