"N-no, I didn't…" Rumi scrambled backwards clumsily, all the grace and poise of a hunter—of their leader seemingly lost in her embarrassment. "I don't know why I—it's not, I didn't meant to," she stammered.
"Didn't mean to what, baby?" Zoey cooed, her fingers cool against Rumi's heated cheek. "Didn't mean to be good for me?"
A soft, airy whine escaped from Rumi's throat.

“You're really good with him,” you comment, watching her administer a needle to his hind leg like it's nothing more than a feather touch.
Zoey preens under your praise, blushing. “I really love animals,” she explains. “I feel like I’ve always seen eye to eye with them, more than I ever have with people. It's why I went into the field.”
“That's fair,” you nod. Your gaze shifts to Derpy, who is staring at you. Judging. “I feel like Derpy and I never see eye to eye.”
She snickers at that. “Even though he's your cat?”
In which Rumi takes Derpy to the vet. Too bad Derpy isn't even hers.
Oh yeah. And she's scared of animals.
