Summary
“So you think I don’t care about, you know, not smashing my nose into a door?”
He hissed as Eddie wiped at a particularly tender spot on said nose.
“Seemed like you cared more about telling us how cranes are made to build skyscrapers than not smashing your face in the door, but what do I know?”
or
Buck's clumsiness leads to an accidental confession.

Summary
“I have a trust fund,” he says. “And I’ve never touched it because I want to use it to pay for Christopher to go to college.”
For a long time, there was nothing that Buck wanted to use the money for. It felt dirty to him, a meaningless offering passed down to him from a family he didn’t fit into, one that didn’t want him. He felt itchy at the thought of using it for anything, for years.
But then there was a boy and his dad.
or, buck has been keeping a kinda sorta secret, and the parenting highs and lows of the college application process.

Summary
“Come on,” Buck says, nodding his head towards the parking lot.
“Buck—”
“Don’t,” Buck cuts him off. “You may be able to brush off everyone else, but you’re not fooling me. So don’t even bother lying.”
Eddie looks at him with pleading eyes, and there’s so much pain right there, beneath the surface. He clenches his jaw and tries to bury it down further, staring at Buck’s chin rather than his eyes.
“Come on,” Buck says, his voice steady. He wets his lips, taps his keys against his leg. “Let me take you home.”
