Summary
Sometimes it feels like he hasn’t been touched in years, like he can barely remember what it’s like to have arms hold him close, keep him safe, soothe the current running through his veins. It hurts late at night, when he feels like he’s floating and there’s nothing to ground him. There’s a pain there, a desperation so acute it burns deep in his chest. He’s tried burying himself under blankets, quilts and cushions and anything else he could find, anything to weigh him down and try to replicate the feeling he so desperately craves. It never works, it just makes it worse.
And so Eddie begs, the only way he knows how. He reaches out at every moment possible to touch Buck; he’s pleading with his body every day for Buck to touch him back. He brushes their arms together, bumps shoulders when they walk, rests his knee against Buck’s. It burns when Buck doesn’t return the touch, but he can’t stop himself trying again and again and again.
