“Wait, what—” Kattigan reached up, as if he could touch Occtis if he tried hard enough. “Come on, Sly. We came back, because the others wanted to see Azune for some information and I… I wanted to see you.”

There’s a strange buzzing in his ears, somehow muffling Caleb’s voice but leaving the words so clear and sharp they’re like a blade slicing into him and suddenly his body is held. He can’t move, even his eyes fixed in place as he stares up at Caleb looming over him. The rising and falling of his chest, lungs heaving for air, is tight and strained, his muscles locked in place around Caleb’s fingers which are still buried all the way inside of him.
