Summary
Before Bruce was Batman, he still lived in Gotham. And Gotham was already a dangerous place, especially for a boy worth a steep ransom.
Or, a story in which Alfred and Bruce deal with a kidnapping for the first time, before they were just a fact of life for trained members of the Wayne family.

Summary
The mall is destroyed. El’s lost her powers. Billy’s dead. So is Hopper. Steve is probably fucked up mentally for life, but what else is new? Steve has a pretty good thing going. He has kids to take care of, an awkward lesbian to advise. Max needs a big brother. Hawkins is his home, and Steve can’t just leave. Not while he’s still needed. He knows one day he won’t be. But for now, it’s enough.
Or: the Harringtons sell their house before the real estate market goes belly-up. Hawkins has been going downhill for years, anyway. His parents give Steve a choice: move with them and finally take that job at his dad’s company or get left behind. For Steve, it wasn’t much of a choice at all. He may not have a house anymore, but his BMW’s backseat has served as a bed plenty of times already. No one has to know. The party has enough problems to worry about.
Or: Eddie Munson worms his way into Steve’s sorry little life months before Vecna rears his ugly head.
Or: Steve Harrington, a character study.

Summary
Religion! Horror! Exorcisms! Piercings! And Gerard is a priest.
Disclaimer: I stole frequently and unrepentantly from Joss Whedon and the makers of various horror movies throughout this whole series. Also I am not an expert on the Vatican or medical-type things, so please accept my apologies in advance for all the wild inaccuracies I am sure you are about to encounter. If everyone could just assume this is the Magical Made-Up Vatican, you know, like the religious institution version of those tour buses that drive themselves and don't carry anyone but the band, that would be awesome.

Summary
“There has always been something wrong with me,” Edwin said, as though it were simple fact, and Charles shoved down the flush of anger so harshly and quickly he barely felt it first, because Edwin didn’t need that, right now. “Perhaps that flaw was sin, and it was only a matter of time.”

Summary
Nothing around him looked wrong, was the thing. Sure, there were some flashy landmarks out of place, but the world overall? Felt the bloody same as usual. He knew this street well — it was one of his favourite routes. A good walk here always helped clear his head after a tricky case or calm him down after a debacle.
Which, coincidentally, was exactly what he needed right now.
After a ritual gone wrong, Charles finds himself in a tight spot. There’s only one place he knows to go for this sort of thing.

“C’mon,” he says. “Just ask me something. Doesn’t have to be anything heavy to start with. Anything you wish you knew, to watch out for.”
Edwin busies himself tidying the cards on the ground between them, stacking them into neat piles alongside the game board. He pointedly does not watch Charles’ face when he clarifies: “Like the Devlin house.”
“Yeah,” Charles says, too fast. “Yeah, like that. Only maybe, uh, not that one yet? I will tell you, obviously, ‘cause I’d be a proper useless detective if I got stuck like that every time something reminded me of -”
“Alright. I have a question.”

Summary
“Snow,” I greet, as if it’s just been a summer since I’ve seen him. As if we were still students coming back to our shared dorm room at the top of Mummer’s House.
I expect him to scowl. I expect him to accuse me of some nefarious plot, just like he always did at school.
He doesn't do any of that. Instead he grins at me. He grins at me like he’s never been happier to see anyone in his whole life.Baz and Simon have both become single fathers in their late 20s through... unconventional means. When their young sons, Edwin and Charles, start attending the same school and become best friends, Baz and Simon are forced to reconnect and address their long buried feelings.
NOTE: You do NOT have to be familiar with both fandoms to enjoy this story. I have written it so that you can only know one (or neither) of these stories and still enjoy this fic. I don't know how much crossover there is between these two fandoms, but this idea would not leave me alone.

Summary
For a magic-user intent on siphoning pain for power, both Hob Gadling and Edwin Payne represent unique opportunities. United in dire circumstances, a man incapable of dying and a boy long dead forge an unusual friendship--and try to survive the experience.
---
“When you died,” Hob said. “How old were you?”
“Sixteen.”
“That,” Hob said, “Is awful.”
Edwin shrugged. “Life is, I’m afraid,” he said.
“Can be wonderful, too,” Hob said. “I promise.”- Language:

Summary
Stepping back into the office, Edwin is met with the hard line of Charles’ back—stiff, Grecian almost. He knew, almost intrinsically, not to speak. Slowly then did Charles turn around, and when he did he looked straight at Edwin and—well—he did not look particularly enthused.
“You had sex with the Cat King,” Charles says, for it wasn’t a question. He already knew—the cat in question had more or less made sure of that. “You had sex. With the bloody Cat King?” As if it bares repeating.

Edwin sighed and unfolded his hands to push his hair back. “I suppose this was inevitable,” he allowed.
Charles beamed. “That’s the spirit. Look at it this way — you’ve never been to a house party before, and here’s one that’s right up your alley!”
“Ominous and full of peril?” Edwin asked sardonically.
“Exactly!” Charles agreed. “This way you get to go to a party you’ll actually like, because it’s actually a mystery. And once you solve the mystery, the party ends. I couldn’t have thrown you a better one myself.”Series

Summary
Edwin is ignoring Charles.
They haven't spoken in almost twelve hours, and all because of a little incident involving some puppies. Yes, said incident may have been Charles' fault, but he has apologised a million times.
Charles is getting desperate to find a way to get Edwin to talk to him again, and a little walk away from the office provides just the thing Charles needs.
He hopes it will get Edwin to talk to him, but at the very least it will be a laugh.

It’s right about when Edwin pulls the last bit of skin together and Charles screams that Edwin thinks please, God, Despair, Death, whoever is there, whoever cares, let me take his pain, I’d take all of his pain to never have him hurt again.
(Edwin casts a protection spell on Charles, and breaks his trust in the process, because magic always comes with a price.)

Summary
Edwin stumbled and choked on a laugh. Charles kept a solid hold on him so he wouldn’t fall. “What exactly do you call this style?”
“It’s an underground dance,” Charles said dismissively. “Doesn’t have a name. It was all the rage in my day though, trust me.”
Edwin laughed out loud this time. “Of course, I forgot about the ballroom dance craze of 1987.”
“Exactly. Now hold on!” Edwin knew Charles well enough by now to intuit what he meant, and he latched onto Charles’ shoulder with a death grip just before Charles dipped him low to the ground.
“You’re going to drop me!” he sputtered. Charles laughed and hauled him back up. They both knew full well that Charles would do no such thing. Edwin just liked to act scandalized for the fun of it.
“Have I ever dropped you before?” Charles asked smugly, falling back into a two-step.
“There’s a first time for everything,” Edwin retorted.

The Case of Edwin's Missing Notebook by thewalkingstone

Summary
Edwin forgot his notebook at the office.
Not a problem. He prided himself on having an excellent memory. He certainly liked to jot down notes as he worked, but it wasn’t like he couldn’t work without it. He would just have to remember things until they returned to the office.
It was fine. He was a professional, and professionals did not delay an investigation because they forgot their notebook.
OR
Just months after escaping Hell, Edwin accidentally forgets his notebook on a case. He does not handle it well. Luckily, his new best mate is there to help him out.
