With the wrapping secured, the room goes deathly still. Martin searches for more words of comfort, more ways to explain that this is what he's expected to do. What he's trained for. All he's ever been good for.

After having a psychotic break that almost leads to Daniel's death, Armand decides there is nothing left to do but go into the fire. His suicide attempt is thwarted however by a mysterious Night Island guest - Brahim Bouteybi, an Imam and the head of a powerful family of witches from Morocco. Brahim slowly gains Armand's trust and makes him part of the family, but as Armand gets closer to the Bouteybis, he becomes more and more isolated from everything that had once grounded him - including Daniel Molloy, his fledgling and lover. And Daniel isn't about to take that lying down. What will Daniel discover in his investigations? And what will Armand discover as he once again looks for comfort, kinship, and redemption?
This fic can be read standalone, but reading the first two works in the series will help you understand my headcanon for how Daniel was turned post season 2 and how Armand/Daniel began.
